West Theater Introduces West Fest

Duluth, MN (Oct 31, 2019) – The historic West Theater presents the first ever West Fest. A week long event starring a vast array of different musical performances, live shows, public events and classic films. Each event will take place in the beautifully restored art deco auditorium of the West Theater. Events start on Nov. 7th and run daily until Nov. 14th. Events range from zero to thirty dollars for admission. 

Musical acts include: 

Nicholas David: an artist with a diverse set of musical talents and sounds who notably placed third on the hit television show The Voice. Nov 7th at 7:30 PM

Micheal Monroe: A fantastic folk singer masterfully recounting some of the best folk songs ever written. Nov 8th at 7:30 PM

Martin Zellar and the Hard Ways:  “His songs are just too beautiful, too fully realized to ignore.” – The Austin Chronicle, Austin, TX.  Zellar brings a soulful and atmospheric classic rock experience to the stage, that you won’t want to miss. Nov 9th at 8:30 PM

Paul Metsa: “He’s a folk singer, a blues singer, a guitarist, a social activist, a Finn, a story-teller, a comedian, a philosopher, a conspiracy theorist and a lounge lizard.” – MN Law and Politics. This award winning Minnesota musician lends his distinct voice to the folk genre to tell his rich stories. Nov 10th at 7:00 PM

Alisdair Fraiser and Natalie Haas: An award winning string duet with a beautifully driving repertoire. Nov 13th at 7:30 PM

Additionally, The West will be showing many films of the past, a number of them being classics such as Metropolis (Nov 12th at 1:30 & 6:30), Nosferatu (Nov 12th at 4:30 and 9:15 PM), Shane (Nov 13th at 11:30 AM & 2:30 PM), and Platoon (Nov 11th at 1, 3:30, 6:30 & 9:00 PM). Platoon will be free to any veterans attending the film. Playing alongside these classics includes other great films like, Despicable Me (Nov 9th 1:00 & 3:00 PM), and The Adventures of Paul and Paula (Nov 10th at 4:30 PM )

League of Legends world finals viewing party: Presented by UWS and UMD Esports club. Nov 10th 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The Looney Lutherans it’s Beginning to Smell a lot Like Christmas: Whether you’re Lutheran or not the Looney Lutherans have a lively comedic show for the whole family. Nov 10th at 2:00 PM

About the West​ The West Theater is a relatively new entity in west Duluth that is eager to entertain and enrich the community. The West takes guests back in time to the theaters’ prime of the 1930’s with a beautiful detail-oriented restoration of the theater space. The aim of The West Theater is to provide a special place for people of all ages to create precious memories for years to come.
