TO OUR MEMBERSHIP: As you may be aware, at our strategic planning meeting in October 2019, the WDBC board discussed how best to meet the needs and/or requests of our current club members, that is within our power to do and fits within the mission of our club. We discussed several options about how best to engage our membership and let you know that we are listening to you! Please mark your calendars for the list of events we will be hosting as well as promoting throughout the fiscal year 2020. This information will be posted on our website and Face book page if you need to find it in future.
“WHO’S YOUR NEIGHBOR?” SERIES
Each quarter, starting in January 2020, we will host a guest speaker from a local business at our luncheon, providing that business with an opportunity to share information about their business, their impact on our community, their history and experiences working in this area, etc. This will coincide with our Quarterly New Business Entrepreneurship Recognition lunches as well. Our January speaker is yet to be determined, but one business will be given the opportunity to present every January, April, July, and October, so mark your calendars!
“HOLIDAY DÉCOR”
If you have been in the area for a while, you may remember when our business club encouraged local businesses to decorate their windows or storefronts according to the holiday season, and our board is starting up this tradition again. The WDBC encourages all businesses in the area to decorate your storefronts with this Winter Holiday Décor! The WDBC will create a committee of local citizens who will travel around and score your design. The winner will be awarded with a gift certificate(s) to local businesses with a value of $100.00 and our annual traveling Decorative Star award! That’s right, the decoration trophy will travel to the new winner each year! Start your decorations soon! We will announce the winner at the January 8, 2020 luncheon meeting! Even if you do not want to enter into the contest, we encourage you to decorate your storefronts in the spirit of the winter season and celebrate our beautiful Spirit Valley business district!
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP APPRECIATION
The WDBC board will host its annual membership appreciation gala to occur in March 2020. We will host a social gathering for all members/interested new members and also announce the winner of our “Nominate Your Neighbor” series award.

The WDBC is seeking your nominations for our annual “Nominate Your Neighbor” series. Please feel free to email or talk to any board member with the name of your nominee. Recipients of this award will be honored and appreciated with a trophy and gift certificate in appreciation and recognition of their efforts to bring positive attention to our area, or for their constant contributions and good deeds in our community.
