Susan Coen, President

Susan opened her State Farm Insurance and Financial  agency in Spirit Valley in May 1991 and has had the same location on Grand Avenue ever since.  She fell in love with Lake Superior when she moved here to get her college degree. Susan lives in Morgan Park and feels blessed to have raised her three children in a small town community atmosphere within the Western area of Duluth.

Paige Larson, Secretary

Paige owns ‘Raise the Barre’ Ballet Studio in the former Danish Bakery building on Grand Ave in fall of 2021 and became a WDBC member shortly after. She has been a resident of West Duluth since 2013 and a local dance educator and choreographer for the last 2 decades. She has worked with such organizations as the Duluth Playhouse, Minnesota Ballet, UWS, and Duluth Denfeld & East High. She is very happy to be able to get further involved in not only the business district, but also the community via our club.

Brenda Denton

Brenda opened her law practice in West Duluth in 2007 and thus became involved in West Duluth’s business and civic community. Brenda has been a board member for several years and was the club’s previous treasurer. As a club board member, she has focused her efforts on developing local business collegiality and bringing entrepreneurs and new businesses to the area.

Charlie Stauduhar

Charlie is a lifetime West Duluth resident and long-time business owner. He currently manages the City of Duluth’s Indian Point Campground and is the owner of the Spirit Lake Marina. Charlie is past-president of the West Duluth Business Club and continues to be an active board member, serving on the committee fostering business development and entrepreneurship.

Russ Salgy

Russ Salgy grew up in the West Duluth neighborhood, graduating from Denfeld High School in 1989 and UMD in 1996 with a degree in City Planning and Administration. He has been in administrative roles in the Youth Development industry since 1997. He is currently the Executive Director of the Welch Center Inc (dba Valley Youth Center) and has been for the past 20 years. He serves and has served on many West Duluth focused community boards, service groups, and recreational events.

Scott Youngdahl

Scott has been a Sales Executive for the past thirty years. Upon previously serving on the Board of Arrowhead Manufacturers and Fabricators Association, he has served on the Board of West Duluth Business Club for the past three years. In 2019 he was selected to serve on The Spirit Mountain Task Force.” Right now, the Club is going through some exciting changes. It’s going to be fun to be part of.”

RaeAnn Hamlin

RaeAnn is the owner of Hamlin Music Academy. RaeAnn’s passion for music began at a young age and she quickly blossomed not just as a musician, but as a teacher. By the age of 15 she was a member of the Accordion Ambassadors and began teaching piano lessons. When the studio she taught for closed, she started her own studio at the age of 18.

RaeAnn also believes in serving her community and has been a member of the West Duluth Business Club since 1995, having also served on its board of directors. She has been active on the Spirit Valley Days Committee since 1995 and a member of the Spirit Valley Citizens Neighborhood Development Association (SVCNDA) since 2002 and has served as a SVCNDA board member. Since 2005 she has chaired the SVCNDA Fundraising Committee/Festivals

Bill McGiffert

Bill has a lifelong history of active involvement in the West Duluth Business community, having previously worked in the area for most of his life. Now retired, he continues his involvement with the Club by serving on the business development and entrepreneurship committee and spearheads other community projects.
